Landlord-Tenant Law

LAJ Lawyers focusing in the Landlord-Tenant practice area will primarily represent:

  • Students living in off campus housing;
  • Tenants who are not eligible for or able to obtain representation by free legal services organizations; and
  • Landlords who cannot afford market rate attorneys.

A selection of specific matters include:

  • Fast Sanitary Code Enforcement;
  • Eviction Defense; and
  • Rent Abatement and Damages Collection.

Robert Burdick is a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University School of Law.  He has been a member of the BU faculty since 1985 and has been the director of BU’s civil clinic since 1979.  He has also been teaching courses in legal negotiation at Northeastern University School of Law since 1989 and negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution at Tufts University since 1992. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Boston University School of Law.
